L-同型半胱氨酸 (L-HCA) 是 NMDA（N-甲基-D-天冬氨酸）受体的内源性神经递质配体。它是谷氨酸的类似物，竞争性地抑制神经元中的谷氨酸-胱氨酸 (xc-) 逆向转运蛋白功能，导致半胱氨酸摄取减少。
