L-α-氨基丁酸 (AABA) 是非天然氨基酸氨基丁酸的异构体，在调节谷胱甘肽生物合成的 γ-谷氨酰循环中具有活性。最近，AABA 已被研究作为体外成熟培养基（NCSU 23 培养基）的补充，用于培养卵子和胚胎。该产品已获得用于细胞培养的资格。在肽功能研究中，AABA 还用作丙氨酸的替代氨基酸。
