双酚 A 是用于生产聚碳酸酯塑料的重要单体，可用于制造各种消费品，如水瓶、运动器材、医疗设备、眼镜镜片、家用电子产品、光盘 (CD) 和数字多功能光盘 (DVD) .含有双酚 A 的环氧树脂用于制造水管内衬。用作前驱体制备阻燃剂四溴双酚A、聚砜和聚醚酮，在一些增塑剂中是抗氧剂。它在聚氯乙烯 (PVC) 中用作聚合抑制剂。
