一种天然酚类化合物。具有抗炎和抗氧化特性的强效抗肿瘤剂。姜黄素除了具有化学治疗活性外，还被认为是一种潜在的化学预防剂。诱导癌细胞凋亡并抑制佛波酯诱导的蛋白激酶 C (PKC) 活性。据报道可抑制外周血单核细胞和肺泡巨噬细胞产生炎性细胞因子。 EGFR酪氨酸激酶和IκB激酶的强效抑制剂。抑制诱导型一氧化氮合酶 (iNOS)、环氧合酶和脂氧合酶。容易渗入细胞质，在质膜、内质网、核膜等膜结构中积累。
