Rare-earth elements (REEs) with specific electronic structures have drawn much attention from researchers in recent years.[1] Ji et al. [2] proved that Eu-doped CeO2 nanosheets exhibited excellent low-temperature activity and stability and that HCHO was totally converted at 120 °C. It is noteworthy that the incorporation of a rare-earth element can stabilize catalysts against deactivation and enhance their oxygen storage capacity, which accelerates reaction rates and reduces activation energies.[3] Moreno et al. [4] found that the activity of Cu/CoMgAl oxides can be greatly enhanced by the incorporation of Ce and Pr, over which ethanol can be completely oxidized at 260 °C owing to the cooperative effect of Ce and Pr. Parvulescu et al.[5] proposed that local defects can be found around the embedded Eu species and cooperative electron delocalization effects endow EuFeO3 perovskite oxide with superior catalytic performance in the oxidation of toluene.Furthermore, Jiang et al.[6] verified that the redox ability, oxygen mobility, and surface area of CuCeOx remarkably increased following the doping of various rare earth metals (Y, Eu, Ho, and Sm), over which toluene can be thoroughly destroyed at 210 °C.
