2'-脱氧胞苷 (deoxyC) 在磷酸化后形成 dCTP，用于通过各种 DNA 聚合酶或逆转录酶合成 DNA。 DeoxyC 是脱氧胞苷脱氨酶 (EC 3.5.4.14) 的底物，可将其转化为 2'-脱氧尿苷。 DeoxyC 被脱氧胞苷激酶 (DCK) 磷酸化为核苷酸 dCMP。 DeoxyC 可作为潜在的头颈癌标志物。
