二乙基二硫代氨基甲酸钠三水合物是一种自旋捕获试剂，与亚铁离子配合使用，可检测脑、肾、肝和其他组织中的一氧化氮。用作测定铜、橡胶硫化促进剂的灵敏试剂，也可用于测定其他金属，如锌、钴、铂和钯。此外，它是超氧化物歧化酶、抗坏血酸氧化酶和其他酶的抑制剂，并抑制巨噬细胞一氧化氮合酶的诱导。
