Ethyl 2-Ethylhexanoate is the ethyl ester of 2-Ethylhexanoic acid which is widely used to prepare metal derivatives that are soluble in nonpolar organic solvents. These lipophilic metal-containing derivatives are used as catalysts in polymerizations.
