Bromomethyl Methyl Ether acts as a reagent in the synthesis and evaluation of hydroxymethyl-aminocyclitols as glycosidase inhibitors, preparation of pyridine derivatives for minimizing CYP2C9 inhibition for cancer therapy. Also a reagent in the discovery of GBT 440, an orally bioavailable R state stabilizer of sickle cell Hb.
